Howard Edwin Walker passed away Feb. 14, 2017, at a care facility in Prescott after a long battle with cancer.

Howard was born on July 9, 1939, in Williams, and if you knew him, you didn't call him by his birth name but rather by his nickname "Rumple." He attended school in Williams and Wickenburg, and played baseball and football in high school.

He was a member of the labors local Union 341 out of Anchorage, Alaska, who were largely responsible for the development of the Alaska Pipeline in the 1970s. Rumple was an explosives expert and worked throughout Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Alaska to name a few places. Although rocks and explosives were his field of expertise, Rumple also sold real estate in Wickenburg.

He was an adventurer, and he loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, biking, scuba diving and golf. Rumple was entertaining, outgoing, competitive, and he loved to take your money in a friendly bet or game.

Rumple is survived by his three children, daughter Sheree (Walker) Tope; son Howard Mitchell Walker; daughter Heather Walker; four grandchildren, AJ Rowe, Jacob Walker, Logan Walker, Hailey Bisson; and three great grandchildren Elizabeth Rowe, Jackson Rowe and Stephanie Walker.
