Shirley Atkins passed away March 22, 2017, in the Arizona Pioneers’ Home among her family. Shirley, age 88, was a lifelong resident of the Mayer/Prescott area.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Eldon, James Ronald and Arthur Lee; her mother, Florence Edwards; and stepfather George (Limpy) Edwards.
She is survived by her aunt Mary Francis, who still resides at the Arizona Pioneers’ Home; daughters Sherry and Darlene; sons Raymond, Robert and Dennis; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
Shirley started life as a 2-pound preemie and went on to lead a full, loving, challenging life, and she will be dearly missed by her surviving family members and friends alike.
