An Old Mining Man Grew Tired Of Life

Harry Arnott committed suicide this afternoon by strychnine over at
the spring, over in West Prescott.

He was about 40 years of age. He leaves a wife and several small
children.

The Odd Fellows are looking after the body and burial. An inquest
was held by Judge Moore.

Arnott was the locator and part owner of the 'Little Annie' group of

Henry Arnolt of Big Bug committed suicide this evening by taking
most of the contents of two small vials of strychnine into his
stomach. He had been drinking for some days and had come to the end
of his 'pile,' or rather, last Friday he gave the contents of his
wallet,m about $240, into the care and custody of his better half,
who with her charming little family of three or four children, went
back to Big Bug, and when his money was gone he called for more, but
could not obtain it from his prudent helpmate. Getting despondent
and seeing no way of immediately refilling his almost empty pockets
he did what ten men or more would have done - ended his troubles for
good and all.

He was about 40 years of age, was one of the original locators and
owners of the "Little Annie" group of mines (named for his wife) and
which property passed into litigation through the agency of the
Providence Gold Mining company. This property is to be sold this
week at sheriff's sale to satisfy Creditors, and this may have been
partly the cause of Mr. Arnolt's despondency.

His wife telephoned in that as he had been an Odd Fellow it was her
desire that that organization should look after the interment and
other matters pertaining to his death.

Transcriber's note: Mr. Arnolt is buried in an unmarked grave at the
Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
