Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Sunday, June 18, 2017 <<< Ronald Parkerson, 67, of Lake Havasu City passed away June 10, 2017. He was born July 8, 1949 in Compton, California, the son of James and Lillie Parkerson. Ronald was born and raised in Compton, California. He attended and graduated from Lynwood High school in 1967. He then moved to Huntington Beach, California and eventually married the love of his life, Vicki, Dec. 31, 1977 in Huntington Beach. They made Lake Havasu City their permanent residence in 1978. In 1983, Ronald started a toy run for the River Riders Motorcycle Club in Havasu, which yielded very few participants but steadily grew larger over the years. After 33 years, the River Riders Motorcycle Club annual toy run has been the biggest toy run in Havasu. To date, it attracts more than 1,600 bikes and 4,000 community friends. Ronald was a retired River Rider Motorcycle member. Ronald enjoyed many things in life. He loved motorcycles, telling jokes, spending time with his family and drinking beer. He loved the holiday season when he passed out candy canes to almost everyone and wore wear his Santa Claus hat. He also loved cooking; many of his friends and family loved his cooking as well. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillie Parkerson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Vicki Parkerson; son Cody (Amber) Parkerson; daughter Misty (Eddie) Paget; sister Mary (Jim) Lowry and five grandchildren.
