William Edward Snedecor, 76, passed away Aug. 10, 2017 surrounded by
his family at his home in Wickenburg.

Bill was born June 20th, 1941 in Riverside, California, the oldest
of three children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie
Doig, and his father Robert Snedecor.

He attended Corona High School and most proudly the University of
Southern California, graduating in 1964. He married his bride of 40
years, Roberta (Young) Snedecor on April 12, 1977 in Chula Vista,
California.

In 1986, Bill’s entrepreneurial spirit took him to Lake Havasu City
where he moved with his young family to open a True Value Hardware
store that he successfully ran for 20 years.

He established himself as a pillar of community leadership and
philanthropy as an active Rotarian and hospital board president. The
Lake Havasu City Chamber of Commerce named Bill as Citizen of the
Year in 1990.

In 2005, the empty nesters “retired” to Wickenburg to be closer to
their children and grandchildren. Again, Bill became an esteemed
real estate entrepreneur and community patron.

Bill was so many things to so many people. He was an Eagle Scout, a
banker, a restaurant owner, a hardware store owner, a real estate
investor, a chairman of the board, a club president, a commissioner,
a committeeman, benefactor, and proud patriarch of his family.

A lover of the outdoors, sunsets and thunderstorms, the heavens
mourned with us as Bill peacefully breathed his last in the midst of
a tremendous monsoon thunderstorm.

He is survived by his wife Roberta, sisters Virginia and Susanne,
his four children Janet, Mark, Stuart, and Christine, and seven
grandchildren. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the joy of
knowing him.

A memorial celebration is 3 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Los Caballeros Golf
Club in Wickenburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made care
of William Snedecor to the Rotary Foundation (www.rotary.org/en/
donate). Friends may offer online condolences at
