Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 <<< Leo Joseph Cote, 66, of Lake Havasu City passed away Sept. 10, 2017. He was born on March 8, 1951 in Los Angeles. After high school, Leo joined the Army, and was stationed in Alaska for two years. When Leo was discharged from the military, he received his AA degree in air conditioning at El Camino College, in Gardena, California. He eventually became an HVAC mechanic for commercial air conditioning and was employed by Allison Mechanical in Redlands, California, before he retired in 2017. Leo bought his first vacation home in Havasu and spent many relaxing “getaways” there between 1996 to 2007. He met Sharon Swearingen and they wed in Havasu on Feb. 14, 2001. Their second home was designed and built by Leo and Sharon. In May 2007, they moved into it as a second home, but in 2016 it became their permanent residence. Leo enjoyed dancing, boating and working out (bodybuilding). He also was a member of the Elks, American Legion, and Eagles. Leo is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Cote, of Lake Havasu City, son Simon Cote, of Mission Viejo, California, brothers Roland Cote of Las Vegas and Edward Cote of Bishop, California, sister Yvette Cottonard of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and two grandchildren.
