The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, September 22, 2017, page 5a G.J. (Gerry) Casey of Prescott Valley, Arizona, passed away Sept. 19, 2017, at the age of 94. He was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Philadelphia, to Thomas J. Casey and Catherine Casey. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue. They were married for 48 wonderful years. He is also survived by his daughter, Barbara Clark (John); granddaughter Amanda Wilson (Brian); son Robert Casey (Shelley); three grandsons; nephew Wm (Pete) Marum (Joan); niece Elizabeth Marum, niece Jeanne Marum Sturgis (Michael); and several great-nieces and -nephews and two great-great-nephews. He was a member of the Sunrise Lions Club of Yuma. Served as State Tail Twister for one year. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Yuma Elks No. 476, as well as Past Exalted ruler, served one year as State Vice President of the Arizona State Elks Association. He was a Navy Veteran. He and his partner, Dick Zimmerman, owned and operated Yuma Bearing and Supply Co., Inc. for 26 years. The business was sold in 1986 and he and Sue moved to Durango, Colorado, where they spent 12 years before moving back to Arizona. They settled in Prescott Valley to be closer to family. Cremation was by Science Care, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. Information provided by survivors. |
