Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, November 16, 2017 <<< Jonathan “Jonny” Soren Dunkirk, of Lake Havasu City, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 4, 2017. He was born Sept. 17, 1977 in Owatonna, Minnesota to his parents, Dennis and Linda Dunkirk. He was 40 years old. Jonny graduated from Owatonna High School in Owatonna, Minnesota and also enrolled and graduated from Wyo-Tech in Laramie, Wyoming, with collision and hot rod degrees. He fulfilled his dream and became the proud owner of Jonny’s Kustoms. In 2006, Jonny decided to make Lake Havasu City his new, permanent residence. Jonny was a free spirit in life, thinking rules didn’t apply to him. He was a good friend to many and had a great sense of humor. Jonny’s dog “Dotty” was his faithful companion for the past ten years. Jonny enjoyed hot rods, auto body and paint, rock crawling, shooting firearms in the desert, riding motorcycles and spending time with friends on the lake and an occasional casino visit. Jonny was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Lee Dunkirk and half brother, Troy Dunkirk. He is survived by his father, Dennis (Maridee) Dunkirk, of Lake Havasu City; half-brother, Cory Dunkirk, of Phoenix; two step- brothers, Adam (Janelle) Sorensen, of Owatonna, Minnesota and Nathan (Ashley) Sorensen, of Faribault, Minnesota; two step-sisters, Michelle Kent, of Chandler and Mandee Gary, of Chatfield, Minnesota; uncles, Darrell (Luella) Jensen, of Faribault, Minnesota, Don Jensen, of Owatonna, Minnesota, Larry (Tana) Dunkirk, of Escondido, California, and Lance Dunkirk, of Loveland, Colorado; aunts, Debbie Van Ravenhorst, of Shakopee, Minnesota and Tracy Dunkirk Rusinyak, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Please join Dennis and Maridee Dunkirk for a celebration of life for Jonny from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017 at the Quality Inn, 271 Lake Havasu Avenue, in Lake Havasu City.
