The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, December 9, 2017, page 5a Nancy Bryant Crisman, 82, passed peacefully in Blacksburg, Virginia on Dec. 5, 2017 from complications of dementia. Born in Lomontville, New York, and a graduate of Kingston High School, Nancy Jamieson Bryant was married to the late Virgil Henry “Cris” Crisman, III. They raised three children in Stone Ridge, New York. Cris was a computer programmer for IBM and Nancy had a beauty parlor. Together, they had a passion for horses and raised Arabians at their farm. In 1987 they retired to Prescott, Ariz., where they enjoyed the fruits of their labor and made countless, lifelong friendships and belonged to many clubs. In her retirement years, Nancy attended Yavapai Community College where she honed her skills at welding, woodworking, and stained glass. With a creative fervor, she carried on her favorite Auntie Lou’s passion for primitive rug hooking and was an avid member of the Javelina Hookers. Nancy was a fabulous cook, and Cris — when he wasn’t riding the trails of Mingus Mountain — tended a garden of fresh vegetables for Nancy’s culinary creations. A born adventurer, Nancy traveled the world with friends and family, from Alaska to Egypt, from the rapids of the Colorado River to China, from Nairobi to the Panama Canal. With undaunted courage, she traveled by horse, mule, camel, raft, train, plane, ship, and even by elephant. Nancy’s final home was in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she loved “being back in the country and near her horses.” Nancy is survived by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Kubalak (Richard) of Virginia; her brother William “Bill” Bryant of New York; two sons, Mark Crisman, DVM (Celeste) of Virginia and Barry Crisman (Regina) of Arizona; son-in-law Ken Rapoport of Connecticut, and two grandchildren, Dylan and Jamie. She is predeceased by her husband, Cris; and daughter, Linda Jamieson Rapoport.
