Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, May 14, 2015 <<< Gerhard Lampen passed away at 78 years of age, May 12, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Herman Lampen and Gesina Eiliers, Oct. 14, 1936 in Oldenburg, Germany. He came to America in 1953 at 16 years of age, lived in Chicago and retired in Lake Havasu City in 1996. He married Zofia Lampen, Sept. 3, 1994 in Elk Grove Village; they were married for 20 years. Gerhard loved dancing, music, tools, travel, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved good food and a fresh cup of coffee. He was a people person, very friendly, very caring for others with the biggest heart, greeting people with the left hand “from my heart”; he had a big sense of humor. Gerhard was loved by all who knew him. Gerhard is survived by his wife, Zofia Lampen of Lake Havasu City; son, Robert Lampen of Palantine, Ill.; daughters, Karen Paredes, Laurie Mitchell, Marzena Scibor; sisters, Thea Noegel, Wilma Viereckl; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Lampen. A funeral mass followed by a reception will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at noon, Friday.
