Panagos, 93, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Scott’s Place Assisted Living Home LLC in Lake Havasu City, following a lengthy illness. He preceded in death his beloved wife, Barbara (Bedford) Panagos; brother, George C. Panagos; and parents Fay (Ledbetter) Gibson and Constantine Panagos. He leaves his nieces, Janeen (Panagos) Coldiron and Karen (Panagos) Foshay; nephew, Lee G. Panagos, as well as many great-nephews and nieces. Born in Banning, Calif., Jan. 13, 1922, Ted attended Banning High School and then served in the United States Coast Guard-Merchant Marines during World War II. Returning from the war, Ted was a proud member of the Masons’ Blue Lodge in Banning. After working for several years as a millwright, Ted began a 32-year career working for the City of Los Angeles’ Bureau of Street Maintenance. During that time, he and Barbara lived in Lakewood and then Whittier, Calif. Upon retiring in 1984, Ted and his wife spent the majority of their time in Lake Havasu City. Ted was very social and enjoyed visiting with friends. He also was very interested in 1950s cars and drag racing. A private family service will take place in California.
