Elizabeth Scholey

Graveside rites for Elizabeth Jane Scholey, 92, who was brought to
Camp Verde from New Mexico by wagon train in 1888, will be at 11 a.m.
Today in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Mrs. Scholey, 1712 W. Glendale, died Friday in Beatitudes Care Center.
She had lived in Phoenix the past six years.

Her family moved to Prescott when she was seven and she married George
Scholey, 32, when she was 16.

The Scholeys ranched near Cordes Junction and after several years
moved to Mayer where her husband operated a garage.

Survivors include her children, Gladys McNully, Lena Franks, Laura
Armstrong and George; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
