Funeral of R. B. Dorris

The funeral of R. B. Dorris was held yesterday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church. The church was filled to the doors with sorrowing friends. The services were very impressive, and were conducted by Rev. Dr. McAfee, assisted by Rev. Dr. Halsey. The quartette was composed of Miss Sargent, Miss Jewell, Dr. Norton and Mr. Hildebran, who sang "Nearer, My God, to Thee," and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and between the two short addresses, Miss Sargent sang "One Sweet, Solemn Thought." While the relatives and friends took their last look at "Ben," the choir sang "Abide With Me." As the fainting form of the stricken wife was lifted from the coffin where the body of her husband lay, the large audience sobbed in sympathy with her heart-broken sorrow, and the many friends of the stricken family heartily expressed their kindred grief. This is the second time in a few short weeks that death has visited the Dorris family, and there are many expressions of sympathy for them all from loving friends.--
