| Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) Wednesday, March 3, 2004, p. B6 Margaret Evalyn Butler, was entered into rest March 1, 2004. Evalyn was born October 12, 1915 in a farmhouse in Liberty, AZ a few miles east of Buckeye. Her parents were Henry A. Hammels and Mabel Stevens Hammels. Mr. Hammels was a pioneer farmer and rancher in Glendale and later Buckeye, AZ. Evalyn graduated from Phoenix Union H.S. and Kansas State University. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, past president of the Glendale Women's Club and worked for many years in Administration at Glendale High School. She is survived by her children Norma Beckman (Dennis) of Phoenix, L. Nelson Butler III (Judy) of Peoria and Wayne H. Butler (Hilda) of Eagar, AZ. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive. Visitation 5-8 P.M., Wednesday, Menke Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Menke Funeral Home Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City, AZ. Interment at Greenwood Memory Lawn. See Also: Find A Grave |
