San Pedro Valley News, Benson, Arizona Friday, January 7, 1938 "Mrs. Louisa V. Childers. Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, at 10:00 o'clock at the Porter & Ames Mortuary in Douglas with short services at the St. David cemetery for Mrs. Louisa V. Childers, 57, who died in a Douglas hospital. Mrs. Childers was born in Texas, on December 20, 1880. When she was still a child, the family moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where she resided until 1910 when she and her family moved to St. David. Since that time she has lived alternately in St. David, Tucson and Benson. For the past four years she has made her home in Benson with her eldest daughter, Mrs. C.L. Rucker. Surviving are her husband, Mr. Eutharath Childers; six children, Mrs. C.L. Rucker, Benson; Mrs.Val Kimbrough, Jr., Benson; Mrs. Jack Crews, Pearce, Ariz.; Mr. Homer Schmidt, Oracle, Ariz.; Mrs. Art DeShazer, Stockton, Calif.; Mr. Robert Schmidt, Fresno, Calif. and six grandchildren. Pall bearers were Harvey Cartmell, Maurice Hunter, Clyde McCurdy, Jack Crews, Val Kimbrough Jr., and C.L. Rucker. Above article was found on the Find A Grave website posted by Diane and John. |
