Richard Brown, 73, went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2019, from Wickenburg. He fought lymphoma for nine years and esophageal cancer for almost four years his way, with no chemotherapy but looked for other options.

He was born April 12, 1945, in St. Anne, Ill., to Delmar and Dorothy Brown. He received a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University while playing baseball and master's degree from Michigan State University.

He started out as a teacher and coach, then moved into school administration. He owned several businesses during his lifetime. He served as the head of the Wickenburg Christian Academy for one year.

Surviving are his brother James (Val) of Florida; and children Amy Brown of Wickenburg, Corrine Brown of Dominican Republic, Richard "Rick" (Carolyn) Brown of Asheville, N.C., Ryan (Andrea) Brown of Portland, Ore., and Ashley (Charles) Wagner of Buckley, Mich., along with six grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Gary.

A celebration of life will be held by his children this summer.
