John Burian, 81, a retired carpenter who moved to Phoenix in 1949 from Norton, Kan., died Thursday in a Phoenix hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Palms Chapel of Grimshaw Mortuary, 334 W. Monroe. The Rev. A. R. Snipes will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Burian, of 4010 N. 19th Ave., was born in Romania.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, Julian of Flagstaff and Anthony of Ferndale, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Antonia Romonowski of Flint, Mich.; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
