Bonita Maud Baldwin, age 91, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2023.
She was born in Copiah County, Miss., on July 14, 1932, to Preston Boyd
and Maud Herrington. Bonita lost her mother a few weeks after her birth
and was raised by her paternal aunt, Ida Belle Herrington. After
graduating high school in Brookhaven, Miss., Bonita attended and
received her AA degree from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. While she was
there, she met the love of her life, William Baldwin. Bonita and Bill
were married on June 27, 1952. The two lived in Crystal Springs, Miss.,
until 1954. While there, they welcomed their first child, Karen. Later
that year, they moved to Blythe, Calif., where they added three more
children to the family, John, Jeannette and Charles.

In 1964, the family moved to Parker, Ariz., where they raised their
family and lived for over 30 years. Bonita and Bill bought property in
Skull Valley in 1980, and moved there fulltime in 1996. Eventually, they
moved to Wickenburg in 2014. Bonita was a wonderful example of a
housewife and stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing
bridge and volunteering in her church and community. Bonita dedicated
her life to supporting Bill in his career as a farmer as well as loving
and caring for her four children.

Bonita is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Bill, and their
oldest son, John Baldwin. She is survived by her children, Karen
Donathen (Steve), Jeannette White (Mark) and Charles Baldwin (Beverly).
She was a cherished grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. at Redeemer
Lutheran Church in Wickenburg (450 Rose Lane). In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Friends of the Wickenburg Library in honor
of Bonita's life-long love of reading.
