Joseph H. Kenrick
April 11, 1934 ~ March 19, 2024

Joseph H. Kenrick was born in Ithaca, NY on April 11, 1934, to James and Katheryn Kenrick. He was one of five children. Joe moved to Arizona in the early 1960s and was a recipient of a fellowship to ASU.

The following year, Joe was hired as a counselor by the Wickenburg School District, where he continued to teach for numerous years. Joe coached football, basketball, and baseball for 30 years (1964-1994) and accumulated a record o 309 victories and only 221 losses. His team won two state championships, one in 1970 and the other in 1980. He was inducted into the Arizona Base Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009. Coach Joe also received the "Henry Award" in 2006 for Meritorious Service to the community for is numerous contributions.

Kenrick served in the Far East (Japan and Korea) during the Korean War (1952-1955).

Joe passed away peacefully on March 19 (the Feast of St. Joseph).

He is survived by his wife, Cary (Bayne) Kenrick; and his children, Cindy (Larry) Thrasher; Joseph P. Kenrick, Jeffery (Ilona) Kenrick, Mary (George) McFarland, Kathy (Scott) McFarland, Amy Pitt, and Jim (Jody) Kenrick.

He was blessed with many grandchildren. Joseph was a man of faith and wanted to be reunited with family and friends in heaven. Also, he told Cary, his wife, that they would meet again.

A mass will be held to commemorate his life at Saint Anthony's (232 N. Tegner St.) on Wednesday, March 27 at 1 p.m.
