Lyris Eileen (Mayer) Martindale

Lyris Eileen Martindale, 55, passed away on Nov. 29, 2023 at Abrazo
Hospital in Surprise, Ariz. She was born on Nov. 3, 1968 in Norwalk,
Calif., the daughter of Jack and Irene (Palmer) Mayer. Lyris graduated
from Troy High School, in Fullerton, Calif. Following graduation, she
attended Fullerton Junior College for two years. Lyris had three
children,: her daughter, Kim Hermanski, as well as two sons, Jimmy and
Christopher Costigan.

In 1993, Lyris met the love of her life in Nathen Martindale, and they
were married on Oct. 7, 2002. They lived together in Fullerton for 24
years until later moving to Wickenburg. During their time in Fullerton,
they were members of the Saints Motorcycle Club. Lyris was an avid
sports fan of the Anaheim Ducks and Angels, as well as the San Francisco
49ers. In Wickenburg, Nate and Lyris were known for their pool parties
with family, friends, and anyone who wanted to beat the heat and take a
swim. Lyris was a member of American Legion Post 12 Ladies Auxiliary,
Wickenburg Elks Lodge, and Wickenburg Garter Girls and Posse. She was a
sneaky poker player, often going all in with nothing just to see who she
could scare off.

Lyris was predeceased by her parents and nephew and is survived by her
sister, Cindy Cranford; three children; and many nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance was held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2023 at the
American Legion Post 12 Canteen. Those who wish to remember Lyris in a
special way may make gifts to the Wickenburg American Legion Ladies
Auxiliary.
