Published by Today's News Herald from Apr. 18 to Apr. 19, 2024. Lake Havasu City, Arizona - William Thomas Stapleton 88, was born on Nov. 15, 1935 to Thomas and Vera (Prouty) Stapleton. Bill left this beautiful world on April 4, 2024 in Lake Havasu City, surrounded by family. Bill's interment will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California. Bill was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and brother. A quiet spirit, he was always willing to help anyone, you just needed to let him know. Bill enjoyed automobiles, drag racing and spending time with family and friends. Bill spent his military duty as a marine stationed on an aircraft carrier traveling to many ports around the world. Bill had often said he would not change that experience for anything. He thoroughly enjoyed his Marine Corp duty. After serving his country, Bill went to work in the automotive industry. Bill worked at several different dealerships in South Dakota specializing in parts departments and warranty claims before transitioning to California. In later years, Bill became a long haul trucker where he drove a million miles without a ticket or an accident. Bill had two daughters, Kelly and Kristi, with his first wife Carol Hamner. He then married Judy Videen and her two daughters Allison and Julie. Bill's years after Judy's death were spent with partner Bonnie Hughes. Bill leaves behind daughter Kelly (Monty) Henderson of Piggott, Arkansas and stepdaughter Allison (Matt) Glidden of Turlock, California; grandchildren Jon Liebsch, Steven Liebsch, Jared DeJong, Jeremy Glidden, Aubrey Glidden, Zachary Glidden, Autumn Glidden, and three great- grandchildren; brothers John, Frank, Jerry, sister Theresa and partner Bonnie Hughes. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Judy, daughter Kristi Liebsch and stepdaughter Julie Videen, Brothers Donald and Melvin and Sisters Jean and Margaret Ann and his parents. Rest well my gentle partner, till we meet again. |
