Published by Today's News Herald from Oct. 26 to Oct. 27, 2024 - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Robert (Bob) Eric Johnson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sept. 28, 2024. Born on Jan. 21, 1956, in Champaign Illinois, Bob was the youngest of four children to Claude and Josephine Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charlie. As the son of a U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, Bob's early life took him across Europe and the U.S. before settling in Redlands, California. He graduated from high school there and began working alongside his father, sparking his career in construction. Bob became a skilled finish carpenter, first owning his own business and later excelling in large commercial projects. His work ethic was unmatched; once assigned a task, Bob completed it with tireless dedication. In 1988, he married Vivian Lee Higginbotham, and they made their home in California before moving to Lake Havasu, AZ. He was a proud father and remained actively involved with his two daughters from a previous marriage. In 2005, when Bob retired. he enjoyed working part- time at Dillards, Lowes and First Interstate Battery. Bob was a proud member of AA for almost 30 years. He was also a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church up through the time of his death. He enjoyed golfing with his church friends, boating and water skiing, and sharing stories of his adventures. His deep faith, positivity, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Bob is survived by his wife, Vivian; daughters Jillian (Randy) Hartman and Jacqueline (Clint) Nelissen; grandchildren Olivia Hartman, Holland Nelissen, Palmer Nelissen, Grey Hartman; sisters Alice Thomas and Mary Andersen; and many nieces and nephews. A private ceremony will be held at a later date in California for family members. A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Nov. 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. If desired, donations in Bob's memory can be made locally to Faith and Grace or Denise's Day.
